Be sure to extend a congratulations to SuprTEK’s Senior Program Manager, Dan Shaffer, on his excellent leadership on the ADEV Program and his well-deserved recognition in becoming the 2016 Metropolitan St. Louis PMI Chapter “Project Manager of the Year.”
To celebrate International Project Management Day (Nov. 3) each year, the Metropolitan St. Louis Project Management Institute (PMI) Chapter awards a “Project of the Year” and a “Project Manager of the Year.”
Dan was recognized for his management of Agile software development teams and their support staff (e.g., quality and configuration management, system administration) who released nearly 20 on-time
deliveries for multiple web applications. These latest-technology, highly-secure web applications interact with various military web services to provide real time, at-a-glance information about global resources and missions to U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC) command and control centers in an easy-to-use, highly intuitive format. Not only has the ADEV Team released all the web application deliveries on time, their functionality has exceeded customer expectations.
Dan guided the ADEV Team through a highly successful implementation of an Agile software development philosophy employing Service-Oriented and Event Driven Architectures. Dan created a program culture that relies heavily on Agile principles like daily stand-ups, self-directed teams, incremental functionality in releases, monthly customer reviews, and regular retrospectives. Dan ensured development teams were supported with the proper resources and tools they needed to accomplish tasks and achieve objectives.
“Dan Shaffer truly deserves this recognition,” noted Ron Howard, VP of SuprTEK’s Solution Engineering and Delivery business unit of which ADEV is a part. “Under Dan’s leadership, Team ADEV is delivering functional software releases that excite the customer,” added Ron.
Dan accepted the award on behalf of the entire ADEV Team. “I am blessed to be surrounded and supported by an outstanding group of professionals,” Dan said when he accepted the award. “Team ADEV has worked hard to accomplish so much for Air Mobility Command, USTRANSCOM, and the men and women in the military services,” continued Dan. “We are going to continue to work hard for our customer to ensure the program’s success going forward as well.”
