{"id":1441,"date":"2018-08-07T10:54:20","date_gmt":"2018-08-07T15:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/?p=1441"},"modified":"2018-08-13T10:47:47","modified_gmt":"2018-08-13T15:47:47","slug":"adev-commends-four-team-members-with-tesla-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/07\/adev-commends-four-team-members-with-tesla-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"ADEV Commends Four Team Members with Tesla Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you need a tool and one doesn\u2019t exist, sometimes you have to invent it yourself.\u00a0 That is often the case with Team ADEV as they develop suites of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Web_application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">web applications<\/a> to assist the Air Mobility Command with dynamic mission re-planning.\u00a0 When certain development tasks require too much manual effort, are too repetitive, or simply appear harder to do than they should be, developers look for a way to apply their programming skills to make the process faster and easier.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/MayTesla_final-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/MayTesla_final-300x265.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/MayTesla_final-768x677.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/MayTesla_final.jpg 972w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Team ADEV works to foster a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/stephenwunker\/2015\/07\/29\/5-strategic-big-businesses-use-to-build-a-culture-of-innovation\/#5c87c47b740e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">culture of innovation<\/a> by encouraging team members to think outside the box in how they approach their work.\u00a0 This includes the Tesla Innovation Awards.\u00a0 Named after Nikola Tesla, whose pioneering breakthroughs continue to influence modern technology, recipients of this award have employed innovation and technology to solve problems and improve efficiency goals.\u00a0 Recently, four ADEV team members received Tesla Awards, the most ever awarded at one time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nick Simmons, Senior Developer, and Nick DeTore, Software Tester, for the Regression Test Management Tool.<\/li>\n<li>Ken Hagerty, Software Developer, for the Protractor Results Analysis Tool.<\/li>\n<li>Brian Haggerty, Software Tester\/Developer, for the AT Anti-Duplicationator 3000.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1469\" src=\"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Nick-Simmons.png-1-187x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Nick-Simmons.png-1-187x300.jpg 187w, https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Nick-Simmons.png-1.jpg 460w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The awards were presented at ADEV\u2019s monthly town hall meeting at the end of May by Ken Rennie, DMR Deputy Program Manager, and Dan Shaffer, SE&amp;D Director of Operations.<\/p>\n<p>These innovations were presented to the most of the ADEV team at the close of a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suprtek.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/18\/innovation-built-in-to-adev-implementation-of-safe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Innovation and Planning Sprint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Regression Test Management Tool<\/h2>\n<p>Prior to Nick Simmons and Nick DeTore\u2019s innovation, Regression Tests (RT) within VersionOne could only be added to RT Suites one at a time.\u00a0 With the Regression Test Management Tool, users can now easily filter RTs by selecting tags and adding them to a new or existing Suite.\u00a0 This allows users to manage the RTs more efficiently so they can move onto more important tasks.<\/p>\n<h2>Protractor Results Analysis Tool<\/h2>\n<p>Ken\u2019s Protractor Results Analysis Tool is designed to help users separate the \u201cvalid\u201d failures from the invalid in the Protractor tool. \u00a0Without it, Protractor only displays the most unique failures as results and makes it difficult to aggregate failures by topic. \u00a0With the Analysis tool, developers and testers can now identify the right failures so they can isolate and solve key problems.<\/p>\n<h2>AT Anti-Duplicationator 3000<\/h2>\n<p>Duplicate testing occurs when a single VersionOne RT exists in multiple RT Suites, which causes the same acceptance test to be run multiple times. To combat this, Brian\u2019s AT Anti-Duplicationator identifies all duplicates of a selected RT so testers can avoid them and move on with the testing process.
